HYPOTHESIS

• I think if I mix baking soda and vinegar inside my

homemade volcano model, it will erupt and foam
will come out of the crater. This is because the
baking soda and vinegar react and create gas
bubbles that push upward, like lava coming out of a
real volcano. I think the more baking soda and
vinegar you use, the bigger the rash will be.
CONCLUSION

• In conclusion, mixing baking soda with vinegar inside my volcano model really makes an eruption similar
to that of a real volcano. I found that the amount of baking soda and vinegar I use can change how big
the rash is. Using more of these ingredients makes the eruption more impressive because it produces
more gas and causes the foamy mixture to come out of the crater faster and in greater quantities. I also
learned that it is important to do the experiment in a space where it is not important to get dirty
because the "lava" can come out quite far from the volcano. This project was a fun and exciting way to
see how certain substances react with each other and learn a little about the science behind volcanic
eruptions.
