A Sample Lesson Plan for Physics

NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION I-Objectives: Fourth year high school students are expected to: A. explain Newton's first law of motion by describing inertia and its relationship to mass; B. describe the acceleration of an object in terms of its mass and the net external force acting on it; C. apply Newton's second law of motion to physical situations; D. explain Newton's third law of motion II- Subject Matter: Topic: Newton's Laws of Motion Prerequisite Topic: Explaining Motion Subject Integration: Mathematics Values Integration: awareness, participation,openmindedness III- Materials: Presentation 3D materials-- toy car,pieces of wooden box IV- Procedure: A. The teacher will start the lesson by giving trivias and examples of situations related to the topic,at least ten to fifteen minutes of interaction with the students, to prepare the minds of the student's minds for the discussion. B. The teacher will present the topic proper giving each laws different examples and illustrations. C. The class will be given a group activity to demonstrate on theclass about certain situation applying the three laws of motion. V- Evaluation: The students will be given a long quiz about important concepts of the topic and as well as problem solving type. Assignment: The students will be told to study for the next topic.
