Explain the operation of CE amplifier and common gate amplifier with neat circuit diagram and frequency response. For a single stage transistor amplifier, Rs=1 k and RL=12 k the h-parameter values are hfe = 50, hie = 1.1 k, hre = 2.5 x 10-4, hoe = 25 A/V. Find and Ro for the CE transistor configuration.

With the help of a neat circuit diagram, describe the working of a cascade amplifier. State and explain Millers theorem.
Derive various resistive parameters of hybrid of a transistor in terms of h-parameters. Show that in hybrid model the diffusion capacitance is proportional to the emitter bias current.

Explain the operation of push-pull amplifier with circuit diagram and derive its efficiency expression. Compare class A, class B, class AB and class C amplifiers.
Derive an expression for bandwidth of a capacitive coupled tuned amplifier in CE configuration. Make necessary assumptions. Compare single tuned inductively coupled amplifier with capacitively coupled single tuned amplifier. The peak input voltage required to saturate the transistor in class C amplifier is 5.5 V. What should be the value of VBB in order to achieve a conduction angle of 90oC? Draw the circuit diagram of a class-B tuned amplifier. Explain its operation with neat waveforms. What is voltage multiplier? Explain with one example. Draw the circuit diagram of a series voltage regulator that can implement current limiting in addition to regulation. Explain its operation with the help of its load V-I characteristic. Write about adjustable 3-terminal IC voltage regulators. Draw the internal functional block diagram of IC 723 regulator and explain how regulation takes place with IC 723.
