Ms. Scahills 1 st Grade News!

1st graders did a wonderful job of adjusting to the testing changes of the building this week. Our specials schedule was different, and we had to keep our door closed much of the week. In Superkids, we explored adding endings to words to compare (-er and est). We also continued to practice our addition strategies for adding 3 numbers. And of course, we celebrated Dr. Seuss! We did lots of writing, reading, and math activities that gave us all a great appreciation for his books!

This week in 202!

Student of the Week!

Victor did a wonderful job sharing during his special week. He brought in his trains and his mom read a train book to the class. He even brought Frankie to karate class! Next up: Priscilla!

Next Week in 202!

Next week, we will be starting to look at subtraction strategies up to 18. Also in math, students will be practicing telling time to the half hour. We will also start Unit 3 of Superkids. We will be continuing our study of Lent. In addition, we have started a Science unit on Force and Motion. We will be doing some really cool experiments in this unit!
