First Grade St. Viator School

What We Are Learning in Room 202!

Reading Welcome Back, Superkids finished today! On Monday, students
will receive their new workbooks and have access to new books and games
on the portal to use during Adventures of the Superkids!
Math We are reaching the end of Chapter 1 and will soon be moving on to
strategies for subtraction. It has been so wonderful to see all of the
many ways that students can demonstrate their knowledge of numbers!
They are doing great with explaining their answers as well!
Writing- We have jumped right in to reviewing basic writing skills. We
began with self-portraits and labeling, and have moved on to making lists
and describing pictures with inventive spelling. We have also done several
written responses to literature in the classroom.

The next Virtus Training is

on September 22 from 6-9!
Homework

Please check folders and assignment

notebooks each night for new information.
Please let me know if you are unable to
access the Superkids Parent Portal, and I
will resend you the log-in information. If
your child was here in Kindergarten, it will
be the same log-in name and password.

Dates to Remember
September 22- Virtus Training. 6:00-9:00pm.
September 25- Teacher Institute Day. No School

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:

Starting next week, all of the
classes will be participating in a
box tops for education collection
contest! Please send in any box
tops from products you use! We
will count them at the end of
each month, with a prize going to
the class with the most!

Please remember to send students in full uniform. With

cool weather on its way, it is helpful for students to keep a
school sweatshirt (labeled with name or initials) in their
backpacks.
Our gym days this year are Mondays and Thursdays.
Please make sure students wear gym shoes and bring extra
when the weather is wet.
Students have Library either Wednesday or Friday this
year. Please return your books the following week on that
day.
