Ms. Scahills 1 st Grade News!

This week in 202!
Although it was a short week, we had a very packed week of learning! We finished up our study of plants, went to Mass with 1,2, and 3rd grades, and attended a PeaceBuilders assembly. Our students are doing a great job at becoming PeaceBuilders in school. Be sure to ask your student how he or she is helping to make a peaceful community!

Student of the Week

Kenny made a super cool poster AND brought in tons of great photos of his family and him! He also shared his super cool wrestling toys with the class! Next week our Student of the Week is Emily!

Next Week in 202!

We will be finishing up Chapter 2 in Math and taking the chapter test. Be sure to review addition and subtraction strategies with your student! Also, students will be participating in special reading and math Halloweenthemed centers next week. It should be spooktacular!

There is no school on Friday, October 25!

Please remember to log on to the Parent Portal of Superkids at least once a week. It is so important for 1st graders to practice their reading fluency and spelling skills as often as possible. We are off to a great start! I have already been so impressed with their progress!
