Ms. Scahills 1 st Grade News!

This week in 202!
Students are doing a great job remembering their homework folders every night! There are some wonderful living/nonliving collages that now hang outside Room 202. Students also started studying patterns in math. They have done a great job working in partners to use manipulatives during math for hands-on learning!

Spelling!
We will have our first week of spelling words and our first test next Thursday. Since next week is a short week, I am including the list of words so you are free to introduce them to your students this weekend. Her His Fish Wish Dish Lunch Punch Crunch

Next Week in 202!

We will be celebrating apples next week! There will be apple crafts, apple centers, and apple experiments! I will also be modeling how our Star of the Week will work in Room 202 this year. The following week, we will have our first star of the week! (more information to follow).
Please remind students to keep all toys at home. We have had many students bringing in small toys into the classroom, and they tend to become a distraction from learning. Also, please remember to send students with an extra pair of shoes on rainy gym days. Gym uniforms and shoes should only be worn on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
