Ms. Scahills 1 st Grade News!

This week in 202!
In science, we have started to study plants. Our exploration has been really exciting as we start to plant our own lima beans! Students placed their beans in a wet paper towel and we have been observing the changes that have already begun to happen! We have also been researching pumpkins!

Student of the Week

Cash did a wonderful job as our first student of the week! He shared his poster, show and tell (GREEN slime!), and Frankie Journal with the class. I am pleased to announce that Marizabel has been chosen as our student of the week for next week.

Next Week in 202!

Next week, we will be planting our lima beans in soil and sending them home with students. We are also continuing to explore our th and wh sounds in reading. Feel free to ask your students what the hand signal for each sound is!

Scholastic book orders are due Wednesday, October 9!

We have planned our first field trip of the year. On November 5, we will be going to a live performance of Frog and Toad. Our first book report is being sent home today to begin working on with students. It is due Wednesday, October 16.
