Star Struck 2014

I am happy to inform you that the Glendale East dance
group have been accepted to perform in Star Struck 2014.
Our item is titled Thats how you know from the Disney
movie Enchanted. The theme for the dance is princes and
princesses which is sure to inspire some exciting costumes.
Specific information regarding costumes will be provided at
a later date.
Please take note of the following important dates. It is crucial
that your child attends all rehearsals. Times will be given
when they are made available to schools.

Transport

As explained in the expression of interest earlier in the year
you will need to ensure that you will be available to transport
(or organise transport) for your child to and from each event.
In the past pick up times for the night performances have
been very late at night (approximately 11pm) which can be
difficult for many families.
In the past many families have organised carpools to
coincide with the day/night certain parents are seeing the
show. If you are organising carpools, please write and sign a
note explaining who will be transporting your child. It would
also be helpful if you could write your mobile number and
the mobile number of the person transporting your child on
this note in case there are any problems.
If you are having difficulties organising transport please let
me know as soon as possible so I can arrange something for
you.

Costing

As explained in the expression of interest, the price of
costume material and dressmaking may be in excess of $50,
as each costume will be made specifically for each student.
An exact cost will be given when the costume details are
provided to schools. It is important that you are aware of this
now so you can begin to plan for this to avoid problems in
the future. Reserves will also need a costume as they will be
guaranteed a spot in at least one performance.

Star Struck Reserves


Six students in year 4 were selected to act as reserves for Star
Struck 2014. The reserves will be required to attend all
rehearsals as they will need to know where to place
themselves on the stage and how to enter from different
tunnels.

To make the program as equitable as possible in terms of
performances, I would like to take three reserves to the
Friday performances and three reserves to the Saturday
performances.

Please indicate your preference with numbers 1 and 2 and I
will let you know which performances your child will be
required for as soon as possible.
