Standard #7: Planning for Instruction

The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous
learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-
disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the
community context.
Name of Artifact: Health Education Lesson Plan
Date: July 2014
Course: EDUC 250: Intro to Physical and Health Education for Teaching
Brief Description:
This lesson plan has a plan for how to get children active and incorporate
movement into a traditional classroom setting, as well as including academic
information in a physical education classroom setting.
Rationale:
To document my understanding of InTASC Standards #7, Planning for
Instruction, I have selected to include my Health Education Lesson Plan, because it
has a different outlook on lesson planning, in the way that it intertwines two very
different learning environments. This lesson plan gives the students a mental break
in a traditional classroom setting, and it gives them a little brain challenge during
an active physical education class.
