Standard Two: Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning
Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS-S.
Name of Artifact: Volcano Activity
Date: October 2014 Course: EDUC 201: Using Computers in Education
Brief Description: This assignment is simple, while it includes components of
online technology as well as visuals for presentation. Students are given a list of volcano parts, must research their personal component on the internet, and then make a model of a volcano and label where their component lies on the volcano. Rationale: To demonstrate my understanding of Standard Two: Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments, I have chosen to include my Volcano Activity assignment. This activity incorporates the contemporary tool of internet searching to discover the locations of volcano parts, as well as requires students to come together as a team and use social skills to collectively construct a model of a volcano and label their individual parts. This project promotes students to work independently, as well as collectively, to work on positive attitudes and teamwork in a social environment. While working collectively, students will be more likely to maximize their learned content through observation of other students findings. I used Microsoft Word to create this document.
