Standard Four: Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and

Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and
responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and
ethical behavior in their professional practices.

Name of Artifact: Class Rules

Date: November 2014
Course: EDUC 201: Using Computers in Education

Brief Description: This assignment is a brief PowerPoint outlining the class rules
and what will be expected of my students. Along with the words, there are
accompanying pictures to exemplify what these rules mean and what I expect to
see from my students.
Rationale: To demonstrate my understanding of Standard Four: Promote and
Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility, I have chosen to include my Class
Rules PowerPoint presentation. This assignment displays my class rules and what I
expect of my students. The presentation is brief and to the point, so students are
not overwhelmed with information. The rules are also very short and clear. Once
students master these class rules they will be making ethically correct choices and
displaying correct citizenship and responsibility in the classroom, and hopefully
outside the classroom as well. In the shift of educational technology, it is
important that students know how the class rules also apply to internet
assignments. Teachers must display correct behavior to model the class rules for
the students. This assignment was created as a PowerPoint presentation, and was
formatted to a slideshow in my weebly account.
