Dear Parents,

It was another great week! I cant tell you enough how much I LOVE teaching your
children each day! They amaze me with their passion for learning!
Next Tuesday we will begin CogAT testing. Please make sure students get plenty of
rest and are at school on time each day.
**We will only have spelling homework for the next two weeks due to testing.
Students are encouraged to still read nightly. I may post a question or two about
Because of Winn-Dixie on Edmodo next week for students to respond to. I will let
students know once I post one! They love Edmodo!

What happened this week?
Reading We continued reading Because of Winn-Dixie and students are
responding to questions for each chapter. We continued learning about main
idea and key details in a text.
Math We worked on solving multiple step word problems.
Writing Lucy Calkins Narrative Writing Unit and writing true stories
Social Studies- We learned about longitude, latitude, prime meridian, and the
equator
Whats happening next week?
Reading We will continue our Because of Winn Dixie novel study and
learning to identify main idea and key detail.
Math Multiplication Strategies (Equal Groups, Arrays, Repeated Addition,
Number Line)
ELA- Nouns
Writing Personal narratives
Spelling Sort 8 and quiz on Friday
Social Studies- Ancient Greece
