The mouths function



The mouths function is to break down large
pieces of food so that the rest of the
digestive system can absorb the food. It
breaks it down both physically and
chemically. The teeth rip apart the food
while the saliva breaks it down like an acid,
it also moistens the food.

-Tongue
The tongue mixes food with saliva
and helps with digestion
-Salivary Glands
Produces saliva that moistens and
chemically breaks down food and
digests starch.
-Jaw
Consists of teeth that help break
down food physically.
-Esophagus
The tube that brings food down from
the mouth to the stomach.

Why the mouth is important for our
body

The reason why the mouth is important
for your body is because without it to
break down the food, the rest of the
digestive system wouldnt work and
intake of food or liquid wouldnt be
possible.

The imports and exports of the
mouth

The imports of a mouth would be
anything that is consumed, including
food and liquids. The exports would be
saliva and sometimes vomit.
