* Because of the Snow day on Monday (2 February 2015), I decided to combine Dog and Cat day instead of discarding a pet in
general. I wanted O day to be on Tuesday so that we could focus on the animals for the rest of the week.

Room Set-Up: Set up and create Pet Shop in corner of the room and switch rice table with birdseed.

Objectives:
Students will be able to

Interact with other peers.

Sing and dance with teacher and peers.
Count along with teacher.

Follow along with reading, speaking, etc.

Experience play
Practice taking care of pets

Standards (ZS)
1.1 - Knowledge and understanding of young childrens characteristics and needs, including multiple interrelated areas of
child development and learning (including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, aesthetic domains, play),
learning processes, and motivation to learn;
1.2 - Knowledge and understanding of the multiple influences on development and learning, (i.e., cultural and linguistic
context, economic conditions of families, health status and disabilities, learning styles, peer and adult relationships;
childrens individual developmental and gender variations, and learning styles, opportunities to play and learn; family and
community characteristics; the influence and impact of technology and the media);

1.6 - Knowledge and skills to create a learning environment that supports young childrens ability to learn and to
make meaning from his/her experiences through play, spontaneous activity, and guided investigations

Assessments:
Attention:

Call students name.

Classroom Management:

A parapro sits behind students who may have difficultly sitting.

IEP Goals and Objectives:

Students work one-on-one with teacher at the table to complete their IEP goals. (Mainly Ms. Mary)

Assessment Workbook:

Students work one-on-one with teacher at the table to complete basic skills and needs (cutting, practicing completing patterns,
writing, drawing, counting, speaking (alphabet/sentences), etc.) (I had a lot of practice with this).
