Today your child is bringing home a collection of word study words in his/her
Word Study notebook. This notebook needs to be returned to school with the
words. Tonight have your child sort the words into the same categories
completed in school. Please do not glue the words in the book. Your child
should read each word aloud during this activity. Ask your child to explain why
the words are sorted in a particular way. Ask your child to sort the words a
second time as fast as possible. You may want to time him/her.
Please read 20 minutes or more with your child. Have your child color in the day
on the Book It Calendar.
Please read the enclosed newsletter about our field trip to Hidden Oaks
Nature Center. Please remember all checks should be made out to
Silverbrook Elementary School. They should be placed in a sealed envelope
labeled with your childs first and last name. The $7.00 admission must be
paid by Tuesday, Feb. 4. All students must return a signed permission slip
by Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Have your child complete the enclosed math worksheet. Check

the paper with your child, and be sure your child writes his/her
name on the paper.

The homework tonight is to have your child go to
www.ixl.com/signin/silver. Your child should answer questions in
the following second grade sections: H.1, H.2, and H.4.
