Frontcourt: B

After scoring 27 in the first meeting

with Indiana, center Mike Tisdale
quietly finished with 12 points, seven
rebounds and three blocks. Freshman
Tyler Griffey did nothing to get pulled
from the starting lineup, and Bill Cole
was solid.
Backcourt: B-
Demetri McCamey scored the game-
winner with no time left on the clock,
but the Illini were burnt by Indiana’s
perimeter shooting.
Bench: C-
Forward Mike Davis, demoted from
the starting lineup for the second
straight game, sat for the first 11:30
in the second half. The Illini bench
was outscored 28-16 by the Indiana
reserves.
Overall: C
Because the going gets tougher next
weekend, the Illini need to play smart-
er. Instead of building on a 13-point
lead in the first half, the Illini let it slip
away. Illinois was fortunate to escape
the day without a loss. Sometimes it’s
better to be lucky than good. When
you’re a double-digit favorite, you
shouldn’t have to rely on luck.
