Frontcourt: B

Center Mike Tisdale can score, and

there are professional scouts who like
the ability of a 7-footer to step out to
the perimeter and consistently hit a
15-footer. He was hot in the first half,
making 6 for 7 from the field. Forward
Mike Davis didn’t score but helped in
other areas.
Backcourt: A
Demetri McCamey’s handle on the
ball was a little slippery while losing
six turnovers. That’s 12 in the last two
games. Nevertheless, he scored 23
points. If there was ever a question
over freshman D.J. Richardson’s
shooting ability, those are put to rest.
He was 7-for-11 from the field and
2-for-4 from the 3-point line while
scoring 16 points.
Bench: B
Illinois got what it expected from the
hustling Bill Cole and the sometimes
unpredictable Dominique Keller. Then
Jeff Jordan made some shots, includ-
ing a big 3-pointer.
Overall: B+
With a little better defense, this would
be even more impressive. The Illini
got another good win on the resume.
Considering it’s a home game, this
one doesn’t overshadow a loss in
Vegas, but the Illini are on the right
track.
