Mike Tisdale showed his ability on

offense, avoiding the bruising play
in the paint and shooting from the
perimeter. Mike Davis returned to
the starting lineup after a four-game
absence, but he had no points with
eight rebounds.
Backcourt: A
In early February, Demetri McCamey
is a first-team all-Big Ten pick. D.J.
Richardson scored nine points, and
wing Bill Cole also helped slow down
Wisconsin shooters.
Bench: C-
Steady but unspectacular, the bench
didn’t do anything to cost the Illini
the game. Freshman Tyler Griffey had
five rebounds, including two on the
offensive end.
Overall: A
This wasn’t a perfect game by the
Illini, who still have some room for im-
provement. But McCamey and Tisdale
carried Illinois to the biggest win of
the season. By backing up that vic-
tory over Michigan State and earning
a rare win in the Kohl Center, Illinois
put itself solidly in the Big Ten race
and the NCAA tournament picture.
