The science fair was a success thanks to the help of Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. Keiver. A new double digit subtraction method called Plus/Minus was introduced in math. Mrs. Stephensen joined the class for the second session of a coping program. Students visited Garden View village twice to identify seeds and play boomwhackers. A bike rodeo was held to promote safety. Next week includes Amazing Race shirt decorating and a swimming lesson.

The Science Fair was a huge success! The kids had a great time showing off their information boards and projects! All of this wouldnt be possible without the help, support and coordination of Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. Keiver! In Math, I introduced a third method of double digit subtraction: Plus/Minus. Ask your child to show you how to do it at home or let me know if you would like to come in so I can show you how it works Mrs. Stephensen, our schools counselor, joined the grade 3s for the second session of the Coping for Change mini unit. We went to Garden View village twice this week! It was Mrs. Burgess`class last visit there on Wednesday and our last visit on Friday. On Wednesday, the students tried to identify six different seeds then use adjectives to describe them. On Friday, we brought our boomwhackers along with us to play a couple songs then share our Science Fair booklets. Looking ahead to next year, I would appreciate any feedback you have on this program. The bike rodeo was on Friday! It is always a fun event for the kids and a timely reminder around bike and car safety.
