Meeting Started: 7h30pm Gail Nolan chaired the meeting and welcomed our speakers for the evening.

Business Approval of Minutes: Minutes from 15 September 2015 approved without changes. Cake: Thank you to Jackie, Fay, Cathy and Janet who brought cake; the cake and bake rota seems very successful and all are welcome to take part. WI Kit: We have a new PA system for use by speakers, and will be getting a notice board. Bursaries: Application forms and policies are on the website. Applications are reviewed and awarded twice a year. From the September cut off two applications have been awarded one for horticulture, and the other for silver jewellery making at Denman. Please be aware Denman also have bursaries available, chat to Jan if interested. The next round of DEWI bursary applications will be invited for the end of June 2016. Programme: The 15th December meeting is a social and quiz, hopefully with the choir to entertain us. Please bring along your Festive Favourite recipes and tasters (please let Jan know if you are able to bring along an offering), or just come try them out! Drinks will be provided. As December is a busy time of year, please let us know next month (November meeting) or email if you can make it, so we dont over cater. Thanks. Future Programme Ideas: Top Votes - 5: Tracing Family Tree 4: Karma Nirvana 3: Indian Dancing 2: Forensic Science 1: Wine Tasting. Kath is working hard on getting these sessions set up for 2016. If you have any other ideas for topics and speakers please let Kath know.
Croots Dining Out Evening: There are still places available on 1
December, please let Helen know if youd like to join them. She sent an email out on 19 October. Charity Support: The Padley Centre is needing hats, socks, gloves etc. Please bring donations to our December meeting. WI Community Project: Most WIs give support to a project locally/in the wider neighbourhood. Please think of ideas for our group. Other WI examples are: nutrition programmes, eg Seed to Saucepan (WI working with local primary school), Bee Friendly Planting (WI working with local residents on village planting), The Milk Campaign (WI facilitating awareness events). Please let the committee know if you have ideas for a community project you would like DEWI to support; well agree projects for 2016 at our December meeting. Subgroups: Sub group leads are asked to please get agreement in advance from the committee for financial commitments eg: room hire. Events need to be financially viable. Members are asked to pay a month in advance to ensure there are enough members available on future dates to cover the costs of each of the groups. Choir: Next one is on 29-10-15 at St Margarets church; its fun, inclusive, not too late to join! Will be collecting money in advance from now on in line with sub group policy. Derwent Valley Walks are going well, 4th one is on 6 November. See emails. Craft Group: Next 11th November, 7-9pm in the Weston Centre. Making German 3D Stars for Christmas. Stitch, Knit, and Natter Group meet at the same time, same place. Monthly Competition: Well done for all the photos. Congratulations to Jocelyn for her winning entry!
