Objective 21

Summarize Freuds conception of the unconscious.

Freud thought that unconscious mind was just he tip of an iceberg. Freud thought that
the unconscious mind was full of significant and disturbing things that should only stay
in the unconscious mind and never be our real thoughts. The sub conscious level is a
level of consciousness that contains thoughts that can come into our conscious. Freud
also thought that unconscious mind contained lots of sexual and bad thoughts. That is
another reason why he theorize that our unconscious thoughts should remain in the
unconscious level.
