Describe the difference between sensation and perception.

Sensation- what your body senses such as pain, dryness or heat.


Perception- how something is viewed.
EX.If you are home alone and hear creaking, automatically think its someone
is there

In this video, a person was saying ba ba ba but, most people think he
saying da da da. However, his mouth looked like it was saying ga ga ga. The
perception of information is different.

Over many years your eyes cause your ears to hear things that arent
really there. When you hear people saying baking bah bah bah You actually
hearthe other syllable or at least some middle compromise syllable that your
brain has decided up. Simply closing your eyes, you will hear something
completely different. People tend to think that our senses are separate feeds of
information. At unconscious leve;, it alters the sound for you so what you are
seeing syncs up with what you are hearing and it does. Even if you consciously
know what the real sound is and what you hear. Your eyes are consistently over
riding what yours ears and send false messages.
