greetings hello, hi, good morning, good afternoon, goodbye. teacher,students, boys and girls. To use English to communicate in social settings: Students will interact in the classroom or the school.children greet each other and ask other names. Students will: 1. Identify and use appropriate greetings in a conversation 2. Demonstrate greetings by using in a conversation class CD.colors, scarf,construction paper, craft sticks. the teacher wave the hand to the class and say hello to the children and encourage them to say hello, good morning, or good afternoon(depend the hour). The teacher will greet the students by saying good afternoon (students name). How are you? The teacher may use smiley faces to demonstrate to the students if they are fine, good, bad etc. Give plenty of wait time. The teacher will then open telling the students we are going to be working on greetings The teacher will play the CD and mime saying hello. to make it easier for the children understand play class CD again. hold up the book and point to Sam and say hello everybody,my name's is Sam. ask the children to repeat chorally and individually. Students need to explore the meanings of greetings used by friends, acquaintances, strangers and family. The explore the methods of shaking hands as a greeting and when it is appropriate to use this form of greeting.
