Inductor is a component, which is designed to have a specific value of inductance. The unit of inductance is known as HENRY (H). The Bar-coil, Surface Mount, Thin Film, Toroid, Type (Ring shaped core) are the types of inductors. Capacitance is the property of a circuit or device, which enables it to store electrical energy by means of an electrostatic field. The unit of capacitance is known as Farad (F). The capacitor generally consists of two metal plates which are separated by a nonconducting material called dielectric. Different type of capacitors is Ceramic, Electrolytic, Plastic Film, Silver Mica Tantalum, Polystyrene Film, Electric Double Layer, Polyester Film, Polypropylene, Metalized Polyester Film and Trimmer. Inductors and capacitors can be used in series, parallel and series parallel combinations.
