    What we are learning In Reading- The story this week is On the Job with Dr. Martha Smith. It is nonfiction piece about a day in the life of a veterinarian. The phonics skill is the sound of ow, as in cow. In Writing-We are working on writing for different reasons. We are beginning to find ways to elaborate on a topic. In Math-We have begun Unit 6. It is Addition and Subtraction Strategies to 20. This week we will work on subtraction strategies. In Social Studies-We will enjoy Irish folklore with leprechauns as characters.

    Our Calendar *Thurs., March 15-Randys Mom, Ms. Sarah works at the Brain Institute. She is bringing in animal brains for us to look at. *Thurs., March 22-Field Trip to Homosassa Springs State Park. We do not have many permission forms in. Please send them right away. *Fri., March 30-Fri., April 6-Spring Break!
    Help Needed! We need a parent to read with the kids and check out books this Thursday and Friday, March 15 and 16. Thanks in advance.
