The interactive demonstration commenced with Introduction on Nutrition with identifying the fragrance of different food items, absorption of nutrients during digestion, test for identification of nutrients, measuring the energy content in the form of Calories in different food items, knowing daily energy requirement of a person, obesity Vs longevity, the right choice and right match for having nutritious balanced diet to remain the happy and the healthy. The demonstration also covered energy content in peanuts, almonds, solubility of vitamins, showing circulation through blocked arteries, measuring BMI & BMR, self-testing of redness of blood, food pyramid, eat-well puzzle etc. which had generated an impact on participants about facts on nutrition and its importance in daily life. The demonstration was concluded with serving food samples among the audience. The critical review of the demonstration on Nutrition was discussed by participants thoroughly during the post lunch session. The demonstration was appreciated by the participants of both India and Finnland. It was also suggested that props and items are more than enough for the 30 minutes science demonstration. Shri Anurag Kumar, PC, RSC, Patna appraised the status of nutrition education available in India and efforts made in India. Mr Jusso of Heureka suggested about having software for energy calculation, Mr Harry Montonen of Heureka need for handling the issue of obesity and its demonstration among the audience and selection of the character as a role of volunteer from the audience. A separate discussion was held among the Finnish and Indian participants to improve the impact of demonstration among the audience. It was suggested that demonstration should start with visual of real meal and the actual food required at the end of the demonstration. The issues like Nutrition Vs Marketing, hazards of soft drinks among the youths are to be addressed appropriately while developing demonstration on nutrition. It was also suggested that the demonstration of 30 to 45 minutes duration should not have more than 10 experiments so as to generate effective impact among the audience. 16-11-2011 The morning session began by Ms.Nina Rinkinen, Hureka,Finland by Finland with warm up activity by counting of numbers with action among the pair of participants. The Finnish participants gave presentation on summer Science theatre which is a part of Science theatre Minerva. The show highlighted theatrical dramatisation of the activities of the shows given in three different forms. a.) It is paediatropic. b.) It is choreagraphical with musical pieces. c.) It is depicting the message with silence .

Experiments on putting eggs in a flask, different fireworks on a table are shown on video. Mr. Heko of Heureka told about the basic stuff of Dinosaurus clock and gas. Mr. Jusso of Heureka explained about the use of theatre about the science communication programmes for which they are organised during summer season for two monthswith one show per day that to with prior booking. The duration of the show will be of about forty minutes. Mr. Heko also pointed out that necessary permission and a valid licence is required to perform the show on fireworks. Precautions and measures are to be taken during the shows. The shows are to be upgraded from time to time. Ambient of light for the shows are to be taken care. Shows should be self explanatory and interesting for all age groups of varied nationalities. The next session commenced with some interesting experiments such as Nut and Keybunch connected through a string, vanishing the liquid soft drink in the coffee mug etc. The demonstration on nutrition was followed by tea-break by the Finnish participants. The demos included, explained about the various constituents of one litre of coke in a dramatic way Also the in the demo the fat contents in various foods for example chocolates were shown using a chocolate wrapper. A live demo of the length of the intestine using measuring tape was highly appreciated by all. Then the demos were summed up. The post lunch session started by Mr. Heko with the help of a power point presentation on Banana. The colour, its taste and its look also plays a vital role towards the inclination to that particular food . There was a discussion to organise a pilot show on nutrition as well as science of sports on 18th November 2011 before all the dignitaries. It was decided that the pilot shows will be given by the team effort of India and Finland participants. The key experiments to be included for the pilot show on nutrition was decided and the responsibilities were given to the participants.

The morning session was started with the live demos on Science in sports by the following Indian (NCSM) participants.

1. Shri Samarendra Kumar, PC, Regional Science City, Lucknow 2. ShriAnurag Kumar, PC, SSC, Patna 3. ShriSujayMajumder, Curator, Regional Science City, Lucknow 4. ShriRupak Kumar Das, Education Officer, Science City 5. Shri R. Gopala Krishna, Education Officer, VITM 6. ShriM.M. Rout, Education Officer, RSC Bhopal

The demonstration on science in sports started with various props and animations. The demonstrations shown were walk to run, Newtons laws in sports, Balloon hovercraft, What is one Newton, Projectile motion ,Catch and Throw, Egg Throw, Tug of war, Momentum Multiplier, Falling Cups, Hopscotch, Centre of Gravity , Fosbury Flop, Rotating Platform, Balancing on beam, Balancing disc , Spinning Top, Cycle rim, Use of leavers in Sports, Gilli Danda ,Tissue paper experiment, Magnus effect, Frisbee, Boomerang, Sweet spots, Bull eye, Tessellation, Muscle movement, Lung power, Muscle power & Reflex action All the experiments were highly appreciated by the participants as it has covered various areas of sports. There was a suggestion that the demonstration may be started by a sports person and a scientist. The starting and the ending of the show were highly appreciated by the participants as it has the surprised elements and the involvements of all the participants respectively. The supporting visuals and animations at back drop were also appreciated. The Finnish participants were suggested that a high speed camera may used to show some of the subtle sports activities which generally cannot be noticed by the human eyes. Some of the repeated scientific terms or the scientists name may be displayed on card boards and shown to the audience, instead of telling them frequently during the course of demonstration.

18-11-2011 The morning session began with the demonstration by Finnish participants on the topic Science in Sports.Mr.Heko and Ms.Nina gave warm up exercises to all the participants.

a) Demonstration on reflex action by raising both the hands and keep them horizontal with floor and suddenly shouting the words HAA. Participants are to follow her accordingly. b) Drawing a circle by right leg along with figure of 6 number in air by left hand. c) Drawing a circle by right leg along with figure of 6 numbers in air by right hand. They also explain the eye hand coordination with brain in different cases. d) Mr. Jusso involved the audience to guess the world record of long jump by stretching measure tape step by step on the floor. Similarly Mr. Heko also involved the audience to guess the world record of high jump by putting imaginary bars at different heights all along the hall. e) All the participants discussed in details for developing a pilot show on Science in sports. Mr . Heko suggested a title of the show will be But Where is The Science f) It was suggested by the Finnish team that the demonstrations are to be organized in such manner to maintain the fluidity of the show. Normally in Finland the basic set up of the demonstration starts from left of the demo table and ends at right side to maintain the concentration of the audience during the demonstration. It was decided that the pilot show on Nutrition & Science in Sports can be organized with one presenter from each side (India & Finland) along with assistance of other participants as a volunteer for the show. They also suggested that the demonstrator/ presenter should have a unique identity to be differentiated from others.

g) The following demonstrations on both the topics are chosen for pilot show.
