CATHOLIC Services Appeal Next Sunday
The Catholic Services Appeal
collection is coming next week!
Your gift to the Catholic
Services Appeal (CSA) helps to
sustain Catholic schools, religious education, ministerial formation,
and initiatives for life, peace, and justice. The UCC receives an
annual subsidy of $75,000 from the Diocese from these
funds. Your donations are money for Gods work, and we use
them accordingly. Your contributions are deeply appreciated, very
much needed, and make a real difference in the lives of many.

Between September 30th, 2011 and September
30th, 2013, the University Catholic Center
building debt was reduced by $266,400.09. Due
to generous financial stewardship on the part of
our community and donors, the debt was
reduced from $371,437.14 in 2011 to
$105,037.05 in 2013.

We would love to retire this debt by 2014! If you feel called to
make a commitment to further reduce the UCC building debt,

Join us for our monthly devotion in the St. Austin
sanctuary with sung Night Prayer (Compline) before
the exposed Blessed Sacrament. The evening will
include reflections on the Eucharist and time for
silent prayer, concluding with Benediction. All are
welcome!

Austin Couple to Couple League has a new website to offer engaged
and married couples a fresh and compelling perspective on natural
family planning (NFP). AustinNFP.org is built with content from
top Catholic NFP sites.
Fr. Chucks book discussion
Join Fr. Chuck for his Fall Book Discussion,
Mondays at Noon and 7:00 pm in the Saint
Augustine Room at St. Austin Parish. Meeting
dates are October 21, 28, and November 4, 11,
and 25 (no meeting Nov 18). We will be
discussing Church by Paul Lakeland. If you want
a good presentation on Church in a thoroughly
Vatican II framework, this is the book. This is
serious study, but well written and accessible to educated laity.
REQUIEM Mass Friday, November 8th, 7:30 pm
The Choir of St. Austin will be presenting Bob
Chilcotts setting of the Requiem. All are invited to this
Mass as we remember and honor the souls of the dead
from our parish, family, and friends.
Mens Discernment Retreat Dec. 13-15, 2013
For Catholic men (ages 17 to 40) with an
openness to a priestly vocation and at
varying stages of discernment. This
weekend retreat at Cedarbrake Catholic
Retreat Center will include silence,
prayer, meals, and encounters such as
Heart of Jesus: School of Prayer and
Heart of Jesus: Icon of Masculine
Identity. For more information, contact
