Volunteer Slips o When you attend a big event that a service chair attends, they will sign a slip for you and pass out slips at the following Monday meeting to save time o Once you receive the slip, staple it in your journal o Examples: Project Warmth, Highway Clean-up, Babysitting, etc. Stress Less Fest o Monday, September 16, 4-11pm o Fill out an absence form if you will miss the meeting for this Babysitting o Monday, September 23 o Time slots are still open Strike-a-Thon (Tori) o Saturday, September 15 o Southside Bowling Center, St. Joseph o Fundraiser put on by a camp for the disabled o Work the silent auction table for 2 hours o Need 2-3 people NSDAs 5K Neon Glow Run o Saturday, September 21 Registration is 6:30-7:30pm Race starts at dusk (7:30pm) Starts and ends at Admin Building $15 for pre-registration; includes a t-shirt if before Sept. 13 o Money raised goes to Backpack Buddies o Would receive 1 hour of service o Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/218104755015751/ Habitat for Humanity Restore Stats o A group of us went to a huge warehouse (similar to Goodwill but for housing supplies) and sorted door handles. Saved them $420 of labor!! Sorted through $16,000 of merchandise!! o Way to go! Girl Scout Day Announcement

Recruitment: Org. Fair Turnout/Thank you! o 79 potential pledges Woohoo! RUSH Week is Here!! Recruitment Tees are In o T-shirts cost $10.26 o Please wear them this week to promote Rush Week! Parliamentarian: Constitution Changes o The highlighted text includes the proposed amendments to the Constitution that we will vote on next week. Leave of Absence o Article III, Section 5: An excused absence shall consist of work, class, illness, emergency, SI, or group project or just cause approved by the executive board. o Bylaws, Article II, Section 6: Actives are required to obtain and turn in an absence sheet at least 48 hours in advance of an absence. From 48 hours until the time of the event, actives must contact the responsible committee chair via phone call in addition to filling out the absence form. Not following proper protocol will result in a strike.

Bylaws, Article V, Section 1: A leave of absence may be granted by the board for a semester, in case of applicants illness, travels, temporary removal from the community or university, student teaching, or other just cause. The leave of absence may not exceed two total semesters. (This will be slightly reworded where it says The leave.) o Reminder! Bylaws, Article V, Section 2 was added last semester, which reads, A leave of absence shall only be allowed to be requested by the Friday after first two meetings of the current semester. Any requests after the first two week time period shall only be for extenuating circumstances such as family emergency, withdraw from the university, etc. All leaves of absence will be approved or denied upon the discretion of the executive board. You have until this Friday to decide if you need to take a leave of absence. Dress Code o Unacceptable dress at the meetings throughout the Mondays the meetings are held. o For shirts: Anything that says Sigma Society is acceptable. Wear your pin with anything else. o For pants: Please wear jeans on Mondays. This includes anything that has belt loops (i.e. jean shorts, dress pants, etc.) Leggings, athletic shorts, etc. are not acceptable. Dresses with leggings are acceptable as long as you wear your Sigma pin. 48 Hour Rule o Submit form and call the correct person See Constitution Attachment file attached to this email You can find phone numbers on the website and Contact Info file attached o Over 48 Hours from the time of the event: You must find a replacement and fill out an absence request form available online through the Sigma Society website. Both the absentee and the replacement need to contact the correct chair. If it is over 48 hours in advance emailing the chair with this information is acceptable, but an absence request must be filled out and turned in as well. o Less than 48 Hours from the time of the event: You must contact via phone only. NO texting. Anything within 48 hours MUST be a phone call. If no answer, LEAVE A o

VOICEMAIL MESSAGE. An absence request form must still be filled out to document the reasoning for your absence. Use of Cell Phone o Please put them away in your backpack. o If you get caught using it, it is a warning.
