Dear Parent,

As always, we have had another very busy week at Twickenham. Year 1 have spent
most of the week taking part in their phonic tests and we are all very, very proud of
them. All of the children deserve a special treat for their hard work and a well-
deserved rest at the weekend.

After School Club
I am delighted to inform you that a new provider for After School Care has been found
and we will continue to be able to provide an excellent before and after school care.
More information will be coming out in the next few weeks but do not hesitate to come
into school if you want any further information. The company which will be running the
club, already provides before and after school care at Mere Green School in Sutton
Coldfield and is run by our football coach Jemma Connor-Ioni, who many of you
already know.

Reception Trip
On Wednesday RK and RR really enjoyed their end of year reward trip to Kids2Play
and Sutton Park. Once the coach arrived, the children had a great time at the soft play
centre, climbing, sliding and generally having great fun!

Everybody enjoyed stopping off in the sunshine at Sutton Park. The children had great
fun on the playground. They enjoyed the swings, climbing frames, monkey bars and
the roundabout.

A great fun trip which all the Reception children and teachers enjoyed!

Sun Safety and Playground Redevelopment
Please make sure children come to school with a sunhat and suncream on during the
warm weather. At the moment our playgrounds dont have very much shade but I am
delighted to inform you that we are about to embark on a huge redesign program
which will really improve them. We have already secured a grant for 30,000 to build
a sports court in the Upper Key Stage 2 playground and the governors are working on
a plan for huge improvements to the Key Stage 1 and the lower Key Stage 2
playgrounds. In all of this our aim is to make Twickenham outstanding in every area.

Football Sponsorship
Despite the disappointing results of England at the world cup, we have something to
celebrate at Twickenham. We are now the proud owners of training jackets to match
our football kit. These have been kindly sponsored by Cotterhill Hitchman solicitors in
Mere Green and now means our children will keep nice and warm when they wait to
play football.

Summer Fayre
