As Days

Hi Parents,
Are you in the Christmas spirit? What does that phrase really mean anyway?
Shouldn't we be in the CHRISTmas spirit all year long? (You're welcome, Mr.
A...) I encourage you to be aware of others during this season and not just be selfaware. It's so easy to get into our own routine and miss opportunities to serve others or make someone's day a little brighter by an act of kindness or generosity.
Join me as I keep my head up and look for God given opportunities to bless others.
I'm reading a great book and doing a study with our life group called Thriving in
Babylon by Larry Osbourne. It focuses on Daniel and his preparation and intentional actions in a culture that opposed everything he believed. It has been speaking to me about being prepared to share Jesus in a world that is not friendly to
Christian values, morals or ideas. The darker our world becomes, the brighter our
light can shine for His glory!!

Upcoming Dates:
Christmas Program: Dec 20th 6:30pm
Christmas Break: Dec 21st (1/2 day) - Jan 3
LS Swimming: Tuesdays Jan 10 Feb 28
Blacktail Ski Day: Thursday Feb 16

Friday Hot Lunch

Beef Stroganoff
Rolls & Green Beans

I have been stretching my staff and students with this upcoming Christmas program. It's amazing how each of us love our "comfort zones" and are not always willing to be challenged to move into an area that will make us grow. Asking my staff
to sing an a Capella song, students to memorize scripture or sign a song/scripture
can be intimidating but I KNOW how it impacts future challenges. I had a mom
tell me her son is doing really well in college because he was made to be in the
upper school dramas. Building confidence and breaking through our comfort
zones are ways we can grow as people willing to take risks for Jesus and His kingdom. What ways do you need to move out of your comfort zone? (I know, leave
me ALONE!!)

Please remember that we will release school on Wednesday, Dec. 21st at

11:45 for the Christmas break. The Polson HS choir will come and do an exchange performance with our US choir at 10:00 that morning so you are welcome
to come join us if you wish. We won't have lunch that day and will plan to begin
school again on Wednesday, Jan. 4th. Are you ready for 2017? Me, neither...
Thanks for investing in MVCA! We are so blessed to partner with you in this adventure. Thanks for making this a great place to learn and grow.
Blessings,
Christian Bumgarner

Christmas Break Dec. 22 through Jan 3 ~ back to school Wednesday January 4th
The Upper School science class had fun with a paper airplane contest. It was held at the 1st Baptist
Church gym. Gabe Shipley's Mach III plane won

the longest duration of flight category with an excellent 4.39 seconds of flight time. Zach Peck's
plane won the farthest distance category flying 3/4's of the length of the gym, along
with Lucca Maddy's flying star projectile. Finally, the best design category went to
Gatlin Scheile's very realistic jet airplane, and Kinsey Brookman's light-hearted donut
flyer. Congratulations to all who participated and especially to the winners!
