What We Are Learning in Room 202!

Reading We began Unit 8 of Superkids this week. Students are
practicing adding endings to words that end with Super E. Students will
also make and confirm predictions in stories.
Math Students are midway through Chapter 4. Students have been
practicing using addition to subtract and learning about related facts
(number families). After winter break, we will learn about breaking apart
a number to subtract. We are also working on improving our math fluency
by doing Mad Minutes each week, with the goal of completing 30 addition
problems in 1 minute).
Science- We are continuing to work on Chapter 5 and characteristics of
the solar system. Students have looked at the moon, planets, and how
objects in space move.
Writing- Students have been doing a wonderful job on descriptive writing.
They have practiced adding more interesting details to their writing.
After winter break, we will be working on writing facts and making
diagrams.
