Results
Accordingtotheexperiment,ourresultshowsthattheVanDeGraaffmodelis
workingeffectivelyasthepiecesofpaperarerepellingoutfromthesurfaceofthecan,it
meansthatthechargesaccumulatedonthecanssurfaceisenoughtogeneratetherepulsion
ofthesamecharges.Moreover,basedontheresults,therearesomepiecesofpaperthatstay
andattractonthecan'ssurface.Theoretically,papershavetwochargeswhicharepositive
andnegativethus,piecesofpaperthatattracttothecanhaveoppositechargesthatthecan
accumulatedtheyresultinattractingtowardseachothers.
Summary
VandeGraaffgeneratordemonstratesstaticelectricitybyusinghighvoltagesources
withlowcurrentlevels.Electricityisgeneratedthroughtheaccumulationofnegativeelectric
chargethataretransferredtothemetalspheretocreatehighelectricpotential.Consequently,
becausetheelectronsarecollectedonthesurfaceofthecan,itcanbeeasilyattracttedand
