INTRODUCTION
Hibiscus (gumamela) is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, with several
hundred species native to warm, tropical regions. Also called rosemallow, hibiscus can be
grown indoors or out. Flowers are large and trumpet shaped, with five or more petals. Colors
include white, pink, red, orange, purple, or yellow. The extract is most often taken from the

This research project aims to the formulation of gumamela flower extract as a facial
skin moisturizer. This research project aims to help the society meet thei wants and
their small budgets by creating an organic skin moisturizer with the use of gumamela.

The study will produce a skin moisturizer out of local gumamela flower as an
alternative from the conventional skin moisturizers and will focus on the distinction of the
gumamela and conventional skin moisturizers in terms of the appearance, color, texture. It
