Canrig Drilling

Console Testing Procedures with PLC interface.

1. E-Stop and Lock-out switch should be depressed before connecting main 10 Pin cable to console.

2. Connect the main 10 pin plug to the console.

3. Connect Blue cable to one of the communication receptacle and connect the blank off plug to the other
receptacle.

4. Connect the mud press switch plug to the console.

5. Connect the Panel-View plug to the console.

6. Connect the Drilling Recorder plug to the console.

7. Connect the computer interface test-plug to the receptacle inside the console.

8. Start Testing:

1) Test E-Stop Switch – The E-Stop and the TD Lock light should be flashing. Pull out E-Stop switch
And the light should show yellow.

2) Test Top Drive Lockout Switch – TD Lockout indicator should be flashing. Unlock the Lockout
Switch and the light should show Yellow.

3) Check Adapter Status to insure that it is reading run.


If Adapter does not show run on display status, check
The dip switch settings.

4) Test Top Drive Switch – OFF ON

5) Test Speed Range Switch – LOW MED HIGH

6) Test HPU Switch – #1 OFF #2

7) Test HPU Switch Light – Light

8) Test handler Lock Light and Switch – Light Push Button

9) Test Brake Light and Switch – Light Switch

10) Test the Power for panel view indicator – Light ON

11) Test Link tilt Joy Stick – All 6 Positions work

12) Test Top Drive Mode joy Stick – All 8 Positions work

13) Test LWCV Switch – Open Auto Close

14) Test UWCV Switch -- Open Auto Close

15) Test Torque Boost Switch – Make OFF Break

16) Test Back-Up Wrench Joy Stick – All 5 Positions Work

17) Test Handler Joy Stick – All 6 Positions Work

18) Test Mud Pump Pressure Switch – Push Top Switch Indicator Works

19) Test Communication Wire – All Three indicators display OK

20) Test Horn -- Horn

21) Test Top Drive Enable Light – Light

22) Test Field Fault Light – Light

23) Test Lube Oil High Temperature -- Light

24) TD Motor High Temperature Light – Light

25) TD Low Air Light – Light

26) Upper Well control Valve Open Light – Light

27) Low Lube Pressure Light -- Light

28) BUW Gripper Closed Light – Light

29) Console Low Air Light -- Light

30) Lower Well control Valve Light – Light

31) HPU Fault Light – Light

32) Torque Boost Closed Light – Light

Press the Analog Page button to finish test.

33) Set Scale for Torque Limit Meters, 0 to 37.5, 50.0 or 75.0 – Setting Number

34) Console Purge – Put (8” H2O) air pressure to console and light will come on. OK

35) Test BUW Saver Air Switch. The light should come on at 25 psi. Air pressure. OK

36) Verify 24 Volt Power ON Indicator. OK

37) Verify 5 Volt #1 Power ON Indicator. OK

38) Verify 5 Volt #2 Power ON Indicators. OK

39) Test Drilling Torque Limit. – Max


Min

40) Test Make-Up Torque Limit. – Min Max


(Note: Mode Joystick Must be in torque mode)

41) Test Throttle. –0 to 100% – Min Max

42) Test Throttle ON Switch. (Note: Should come on before throttle is 5%) -- OK

43) Test Torque Meter Display.— Min Max


(Press Torque meter indicator and set a value between 0 and 100%)

44) Test RPM Meter Display.— Min Max


(Press RPM meter indicator and set a value between 0 and 500 RPMs).

45) Test Drilling Recorder Torque Analog Output 0 to 100%.— Min Max
(Note: This display should read the same as the requested Percentage)

46) Test Drilling Recorder RPM Analog Output 0 to 500 RPM Min Max
(Note: This display should read the same as the requested RPM).
