Reflection Report On (ROS):

From what I’ve seen and found out based on my fieldwork at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan

Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) or SMK P11 (1), there had been various changes and activities done

by the people here. One of the things that I’d notice is the environment. The atmosphere felt

different than the one that I’d used to.

The first thing that are obvious is the infrastructure. Previously, few years ago the

school hall doesn’t have any adequate infrastructure for the comfort of the people that used the

hall such as fan, sound absorbent wall, decorations and many others. Currently, the hall has 2

huge fans of which could easily blow away the heat of the crowds and send the cool breeze to

all the people beneath it. In short way of saying things, it is kind of nice for the school to install

those huge fans. As for the other infrastructure, like I stated before there are some facilities

that need to be repaired and renewed. Otherwise, it is good.

However, the disciplinary problem is still at large although the school had found few

ways to deal it and one of them is by making late-comers to answer certain questions provided

by the disciplinary members. Though, it is somewhat a burden, it is worth it since it reduces

the ratio of late-comers to very minimal.

As for the teachers here, they’re very friendly and hardworking too even though

infrastructure here is somewhat poor in conditions. My experiences when doing my research

is that of they are quite the social type of people where they meet each other almost never

without a smile. To this, if I could rate it I would give them 5/5 in goodness, That is all thank

you.

2.3 STAFF DEVELOPMENT:

2.3.1 PRINCIPAL

SMK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) originally had a principal named Puan Seri Halimah. She

originally named Datin Seri Halimah before her service that earned her succession to gain the

title Puan. She had done so much for the school that the academic performance boosts

drastically. She had retired somewhere in 2017 and was succeeded by Datin Siti Norbaya bt

Mansor. She is also performed well due to the achievement in many fields especially in

disciplinary action. The price for those who violates the school rules and regulations are safe

to say it is fair.

2.3.2 SENIOR ASSISTANT

Originally, the school had a wise Senior Assistant named Puan Mai Zatul Akma. During her

time of service, the school handled few problems with lesser difficulties due to her skills in

managing school affairs. The school even gained few recognitions for its performance due to

her cooperation with other staffs. Sadly, she retired about a year or two ago. As for the new

Senior Assistant, there are still much that she can do and hopeful even better than the previous

one.

2.4 PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

2.4.1 ROLES OF THE ASSOCIATION

For starter, the purpose of Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) is to establish the relationship

between teachers, staffs of the school and the parents of the pupils. PTA also serves as the vital

feedback so that they may come up with a possible win-win situation for every problems and

challenges that occurs.

2.5 ACTIVITIES

There had been many activities carried out to strengthen the bond between teachers, pupils,

staffs and parents. Such activities can be seen during the “Bergotong-royong” or mutual

cooperation in cleaning up the school together.

3.0 THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE SCHOOL:

1. Library: There is one library in this school with adequate basic equipment such as

computers, scanners, printers, binders and cutter, air-conditioners and many more.

Though it is not that big, but it is still more than enough since there are other schools

that the library doesn’t have adequate equipment. The books there are sufficient and

well-organized. There are markers to ease for anyone to search books.

2. Resource room: This school definitely have resource rooms particularly to aid the

disabled. There had been one block one the entire floor made specialized for the

disabled children. Only the disabled and the related teachers and staffs are allowed one

that floor.

3. Science Labs: There are about 6 to 9 science labs in the school with each having their

own equipment and materials. Each room have many safety precautions of which

include fire extinguishers, radioactive neutralizers and many more. Though some of

the apparatus are very fragile but they are put in a safe spot.

4. WORKSHOPS: There are about 6 to 8 workshops in this school with each serves

different purposes. They have hand tools like handsaw, electrical tools such table saw,

stoves for those who are taking family building economy and safety precautions as

well like the science lab only more fire extinguishers.

5. OTHERS: As for the infrastructure of the school, they have a rather 50/50 at rating

since they are adequate, but some are either broken or out of commission. When ask
about the other 50% of the infrastructure, it is known to be simply because the school

doesn’t have enough budget so if possible for the Ministry Of Education (MOE) to

supply some sort of monetary support that would be great.

4.0 CURRICULUM:

4.1 IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CURRICULUM:

4.1.1.1 TIMETABLE:

 As for the timetable, it is handled by the Academic Senior Assistant and the related

subordinate who will choose carefully what time is the best time to teach the pupils and

make sure that is don’t clashes with other subjects and especially for the teachers to do

their work properly. The timetable is possibly based on the level of class of the students.

The highest class would be the focus of the teachers.

4.1.1.2 SYLLABUS:

 There are plenty of syllabus for the pupils to choose but only to Form 4. This is because

from Form 1 to Form 3 students, they are required to take all the basic 8 compulsory

subjects of which includes Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematic, History, Islamic

Teachings or Civil Teaching (for the non-Muslim), Geography, Science and Malay’s

Literature. In Form 4, the students may choose their own course to take of which can

be Pure Science, Architecture, ICT, Accounting, Economy, Arab and Literature.

4.2 IMPLEMENTATION OF CO-CURICULUM

4.2.1 CLUB, SOCIETIES AND UNIFORMS

There are many uniforms union of which are police cadets, fire cadets, school cadet cadets, red

crescent association (PBSM), princess shoots and many more. The main focus of the school is

police cadet. This is because many students are sent to participate in marching and return with

victory in their hands. As for the clubs, there are many such as chess association, language

clubs, cultural club, computer club and many others. Usually, the sports club is the main

attractions such as volleyball club. Sports in this school is more active than academic for most

students. Badminton is the most joined club due to the interest of many teachers here.

4.2.2 TEACHING OBSERVATIONS:

This school academic achievement is very good and can’t be said otherwise. During the

research of this school academic system, it is known that for pupils who are sitting the big exam

such as SPM and PT3 examination, they are required to join evening class where every single

class from the low-medium students to the smartest class to participate the evening class. This

school also provides necessity education for the handicap students of which allows them to

equip themselves with the basic knowledge of the world. The teachers usually used their own

creativity in teaching students from different classes. They also preferably teach students in a

simple way to understand such as direct question and answers.
