Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Bubbl.us can be incorporated into the principles of Universal Design for Leaning because it is providing a
visual that can support students’ learning styles in the classroom. Multiple content areas can be addressed
when using concept maps and students can color code the information they provided in their concept map.
Students can eventually use this method to further develop their organizational writing skills.
Lesson idea implementation:
After the main information of the lesson has been presented, this will act as an activity to reinforce the
information the students just learned about the four types of productive resources. Students will need to
define the resources of land, labor, capital (good), and entrepreneurship and give at least three or more
examples of each resource. Students will be assessed on the accuracy of the definition and how many
examples they provide.
This activity should take 20-25 minutes to finish and students should be able to share the definition and
their examples after the assignment is complete. As an extension of this assignment and if time allows,
students can research more aspects of any of the four productive resources and add on to their concept map.
Students can share their bubbl.us concept map with the teacher for feedback on their assignment. The
teacher can add another bubble on the concept map with personal notes or corrections the students can
make.

Reflective Practice:
As a final extension of this lesson, students could create another concept map of definitions they are
unfamiliar with when researching the original productive resources. This could be shared on to a word wall in
the classroom or online blog to show what students are learning and their progress with this particular unit.
This is a fun and easy way to expand vocabulary for the student.
