Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This tool is a great tool for all learners as it breaks down important information for all students to be able to
understand. This tool provides main categories with sub ones with lines to help students connect each topic
and know what comes from what. Visual learners will connect to this the most as it provides great visual aid
with different color coding, video representations and more. This project helps with representation and
expression as it gives students a chance to create a mind map that best suits their learning and represents a
concept by providing different parts of information. This will help ESOL students as it is broken in chunks.
Lesson idea implementation:
The teacher will start out by giving students a lesson on productive resources. While teaching the lesson, the
students will be required to take notes. The students will use their school laptops or tablets to then use
Bubbl.us to create a mind map and discussing the 4 types of productive resources. The students will provide a
definition, example, and picture or video if possible. The students also will be taught how to Bubbl.us prior to
doing the activity. After completing the activity students will be able to share this with their classmates and
see if the missed more important information or gained more information.
The students will be using higher levels of thinking as they create and apply what they have been learning and
making it into a mind map. Students are expected to go into detail on the resources so it will be easy to
understand and for others to learn from. The is welcomed to add colors, and more to create a great visual for
learning.
Reflective Practice: In order to advance the Loti level in this project, students should publish this and add
this to the classroom website for the school to see. Students could share this with kids from different
classrooms for when they begin learning a new concept as well.
