Narrative Report
World- Teacher’s Day

Last September 5, 2018 to October 5, 2018, Dampalan Elementary School held its annual
School-based World’s Teachers Day Celebration with a theme, “Gurong Pilipino: Turo mo,
Kinabukasan ko”. This is pursuant to the Department Order issued by the Department of
Education to show how important the role of the teaching profession in our society.
The series of program was started by a Ringing of Bell signifying the commencement of
the month-long teacher’s month celebration and followed by simultaneous reciting of prayer by
the Dampalan Elementary School pupils spear-headed by the Supreme Pupil’s Government
(SPG) of Dampalan Elementary School.
In the Second week the SPG under the guidance of their coordinator, Ms. Vannessa Mar
Dabon, conducted a poster making contest and slogan writing with a theme, “Gurong Pilipino:
Turo mo, Kinabukasan ko”.
The following week is also special to both the teachers and the pupils. For the pupils who
showcase their talents in making spoken poetry for their teachers and for the teachers who
savored every word of the said spoken poetry. This said activity is under the guidance of Mr.
Christian Anghad, Mrs. Fe Luzon, Mrs. Riezl Manceras and Mrs. Mary Jaen Lihay-lihay.
This said event was concluded by the Supreme Pupil’s Government (SPG) of Dampalan
Elementary School and attended by the teachers, parents, barangay officials, military personnel
stationed at Barangay Dampalan and the pupils of various grade levels. It started by an
Invocation entitled “You Raise me up”, and followed by National Prayer for Teachers given by
the pupils. Then, Feiven Guinican , SPG Vice-President, gave his heart-warming welcome
address and invited all teachers to sit back, enjoy and said, “this is your day mga Ma’am and Sir,
Relax lang.”
This culmination program would not be complete without a barrage of intermission
numbers. The opening salvo of these is given by the Grade IV pupils under the tutelage of Mr.
Rene L. Delovio.
Then it was followed by a message given by the beloved School Principal of Dampalan
Elementary School, Mrs. Lalaine R. Bonilla. She advised the pupils to respect and be grateful for
their teachers in inculcating them not just academic lessons but also life lessons.
The message was then followed by an amazing intermission number of the Grade V
pupils under the guidance of Mr. Stephen G. Gallega. Then followed by an astonishing dance
number presented by the Grade VI pupils under the guidance of Mr. Mark Joseph M. Timple.
Then followed by a message of Sgt.Viane Q. Magalisin, Commanding Officer of the
military personnel assigned in Dampalan, and then a message by Barangay Kagawad Dodo Tilid
both of their message advised the pupils to follow the light and the way given by their teachers
since all their teachers want is what is good for them.
After the intermission numbers offered by the pupils, it was then followed by giving of
gifts and letters to the teacher by the pupils to show their thanks and heartfelt genuine gratitude.
Then it was followed by an intermission by teachers. The program was consummated by
a closing remarks given by Sarah Ganaway, SPG Secretary, and a closing prayer by KC
Guilingan.
Attached in this herewith is the program, as well as, the relevant pictures for this
memorable event.
To sum it all, the program was a fulfilling experience both to the teachers and to the
students. To the pupils that they have given their letters and nominal gifts and to the teachers
who receive it which meant a lot for them. It also challenges the teachers of Dampalan
Elementary School to strive more to give quality instruction to their pupils, given the great
responsibility laid upon their hands.
