INTRODUCTION
The knowledge of a student gained from the college professors
are not enough when only learned by pure imagination. That is why
an internship or the so-called OJT (On-the-Job Training) is created.
This serves as a way that gives students a chance to apply the lessons
learned from the school. It also aids the students to achieve relevant
knowledge and skills through the actual experience in working in the
field of their profession. Thus, the workplace and the field serve as a
new venue of learning for the student.

For Hemispeheres Travel and Tours which is located

atChateau Francisca Bldg. North Road, St. Paul’s Highway,
Dumaguete City who willingly accept a student trainee, OJT program
provides them additional manpower without expecting salary to pay
back. Student trainees can bring fresh ideas, and if even given such
opportunity to speak their minds freely, they may be able to contribute
significantly in brainstorming sessions that will possibly help for the
productivity of the company.

Generally, while training the interns, supervisors who are Mrs.

Germalyn Café Zerna and Ms. Kaizsah Kelsey Vincoy in fact
also teaching the process of guiding the trainees stretches their
patience, develops tourism skills and makes them more sensitive to
the needs and mind set of the younger generation. The course of
supervision also teaches them how to share what they know and be
receptive to questions. Hence, the internship also becomes an avenue in
training for future employees and managers.

As a trainee, we are required to be trained for a basic work such

as making itineraries, packages and book ticket etc. which is
supervised with Ms. Kaizsah Kelsey Vincoy, she taught us to be
disciplined and guiding us in making itineraries and packages and
also to book ticket.

Conclusion
There’s no place like having an On-The-Job Training. It will definetly
change you to become a better person. Going out to your comfort zone to
experience life must be better if there’s an establishment or knowing that
the school you’ve trusted was always at my side to guide or shall I say
helping you to become an successful individual in the future. That’s why we
are very much greatful being a Paulinian that we are having an trainee as
early as we don’t expect because other school they didn’t let their student to
experience an On-The-Job Trainee as early like us.

We all know that in real world there’s always an difficulties in dealing

different people that’s why we are having this OJT to be corrected and know
what was wrong with our attitude or our working performance. Our
experienced was very far from real world if your gonna compare it. This was
a very good example to change it in the future we are thankful to be guided
with this attitude and I now aware what was my mistakes.

Knowing that I’ve completed my 225 hours felt better. After how
many weeks in having the On-The-Job Trainee finally I’ve accomplished
my task. After all the hardwork we proudly say that we did it. We have now
a motivation, confidence and skills to be showed off knowing that we
already experience and encounter the real world of Tourism industry.
