MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is a British international Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1989 to clear
landmines and unexploded bombs for the benefit of local communities worldwide. We have worked with conflict affect
populations in over 40 countries to identify their needs, provide employment and training and help them to live their

MAG has worked in Myanmar since 2013. It aims to reduce the threat of death and injury from remnants of conflict,
which include anti-personnel and anti-vehicle landmines, as well as rockets, missiles, mortars, grenades, ammunition,
small arms and light weapons, and many more types of deadly items.
MAG is now seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Myanmar Nationals to fill the following
positions:
Position : Community Liaison Officer (1 position)
Department : Programme Operation
Report to : Community Liaison Team Leader
Location : Dawei ,Tanintharyi Region
Salary : Grade 4 & Point 1 ( Basic salary 445 USD equivalent to MMK ) + Other Benefits

Main Responsibilities:

Technical
 Liaise with affected communities, local authorities, government bodies, NGO’s and development agencies, in the
governorate s/he is assigned to, depending on specific tasks
 Collect information on mine/UXO affected communities; complete surveys, accident and victim reports and
community assessments
 Deliver targeted Mine Risk Education
 Deliver training and support to key people to enable them to implement MRE activities in at-risk communities
 Conduct non-technical survey through the use of focus group discussion and key informant interview
 Use GPS and map making tools to accurately document mine/ERW contamination
 Field test resources, including MRE materials, prioritization tools and equipment, where instructed
 Feedback to the CLTL on the progress of activities
 Record the impact of the projects and the need for future work through the collection of case studies,
photographs, videos, needs assessments and evaluation reports
 Any other duties requested by the CLTL

All MAG Myanmar staff are expected to undertake the following general duties:
 Work within the framework of MAG's core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement
 Work towards achieving programme and/or department business plan objectives
 Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all MAG policies and procedures and keep informed of MAG activities
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required

Experiences & Qualification Requirements


 Languages: Fluent Karen; Intermediate Burmese; Basic to Intermediate English; Dawei language skills are
considered an asset
 3 - 5 years working in a similar role, with transferrable skills
 Excellent networking skills and the ability to problem-solve
 Excellent organizational skills
 Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds both
internally and externally
 Any graduated or equivalent of similar field.
