SASO dance battle 2019

Requirements:
1. Each team shall have 1 entry presentation with a minimum of Six (6) and a
maximum of Eight (8) bona fide SASO Scholars participating in the dance proper.
2. Props men and utility men are not allowed.
3. Each team shall indicate participation to the competition by submitting a photocopy
of a validated school id of the performers with an attached contact number of the
contact person.
4. Deadline of the submission of participants is on (May 3, 2019 – Friday from 8am
to 9pm ONLY).

Mechanics:

1. The dance routine maybe in fusion of jazz, hip hop, contemporary, street dance,
pop, retro or any kind as long as it is modernized or stylized and is in the fast modern
upbeat tempo.
2. The music must be MP3 FORMAT through a labeled of flash drive, the music must
be in the time frame of 3 to 5 minutes. There will be a 1% deduction of the total
score for every minute of extension.
3. Narration is strictly not allowed. This competition is designed for each entry to
tell a story revolving around the theme “DANCE BATTLE” showing the talents of
scholars and awareness through dancing.
4. The performers may wear any costume provided that are decent and secured. (NO
REVEALING COSTUMES).
5. The music must not contain any vulgar words, unnecessary or sexual sounds and
others.
6. Using materials like dangerous chemicals, firecrackers, liquefy materials and etc.
that will cause damage is strictly NOT ALLOWED.
7. The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.

SASONISTAS 2019
Requirements:

1. Each team shall have 3 to 5 performers which a bona fide SASO Member.
2. Props men and utility men are not allowed.
3. Each team shall indicate participation to the competition by submitting a photocopy
of a validated school id of the performers with an attached contact number of the
contact person.
5. Deadline of the submission of participants is on (May 3, 2019 – Friday from 8am
to 9pm).

Mechanics:

1. The music must be MP3 FORMAT through a labeled of flash drive or LIVE
ACCOUSTIC (they will provide their owned instruments).
2. The performance must be in the time frame of 3-5 minutes. This includes individual

3. There will be a 1% deduction of the total score for every minute of extension.
4. Each team performers must submit the lyrics of the songs they will perform
(Printed).
5. Formal attires, gowns and semi-formal are highly encouraged during the
performance. (NO REVEALING COSTUMES).
6. The piece must be an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) in any genre.
7. The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.

SASO Ambassador and ambassadress 2019

GUIDELINES:
1. There should be two candidates for each team. One for male Ambassador 2019
and One female for Ambassadress 2019.
2. Official candidates should prepare the following attire:
a. Production Number Attire
Top: Based in their team color (V-neck for the female, round neck for the
male)
Bottom: Jeans
b. Creative Attire (Made of recyclable materials inspired in their team
element)
c. Formal Wear
3. The attire should be highly conservative with decent cuts and must avoid
vulgarity. The attire shall follow the school rules and regulations.
4. The participants must attend the following rehearsals called by the
choreographer and stage director.
5. Scores from Production Number, Creative Attire, Formal Wear, and Question
& Answer Portion will be tallied by percentage system.
6. The Question & Answer Portion is a random pick word elaborated to social
issues.
7. The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.
8. Submission of participants is on (May 3, 2019 – Friday from 8am to 9pm).

SASo Spoken WORD POETRY

Requirements:

1. Each team shall have 1 performer which a bona fide SASO member.
2. Each team shall indicate participation to the competition by submitting a photocopy of
a validated school id of the performer with an attached contact number of the contact
person.
3. Each participant must submit 3 copies of their contest piece on May 3, 2019.
4. Deadline of the submission of participants is on (May 3, 2019 – Friday from 8am to
9pm).

Mechanics:
1. The piece can be Cebuano, Filipino, or a combination of the two dialects.
2. The participant must memorize the piece and deliver it within the time limit (3 to 4
minutes).
3. Substitution of participant is not allowed. (it will consider, if the said participant has
a VALID REASON.
4. Foul words, unnecessary effects and other related matters are not allowed.
5. Costumes should be appropriate and must follow the dress codes. (NO
REVEALING COSTUME)
6. Failure to follow the said rules stipulated above will be deducted 1% per judge.
7. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. The Student Assistant Scholars Organization (SASO) will be divided into 4 teams:
AIR as ZEPHYR, WATER as HYDRA, FIRE as FUEGO, and EARTH as TERRA.
2. On the day of the program proper (8 AM-until the end of the program), Student
Assistant Scholars who have entered the school premises will not be allowed to
go outside unless if it has a permission coming from the team leaders or has a
valid reason coordinated to the SASO Officers.
3. All Team members and Participants must fill out in the ATTENDANCE SHEET
prepared by the Monitoring Committee Chairpersons (Attendance in the morning
and afternoon). 1 minute late of every member of the team is equivalent to 1%
deduction to their overall score.
4. All Student Assistant Scholars affiliated with the TEAM under SASO will be allowed
to wear proper civilian attire.
5. All Student Assistant Scholars are mandated to bring their own lunch and snacks
excluded for the dinner (accommodate by the SASP).
6. The set deadlines given by the SASO Officers must strictly followed. Failure to do
so will have a deduction of 5 points in the team total score.
7. The participants (requested by the choreographer and stage director) must attend
the set rehearsals.
8. SASO Ambassador & Ambassadress 2019 will be an individual event. Each team
must send 1 pair representative to represent the team itself.
9. The pointing system must be strictly followed by every event.
10. The results will be collected by the results secrecy committee. Each events have
their own provided guidelines. Failure to follow the guidelines will have a deduction
of 5 points in their team total score.
11. If a team is disqualified in a particular event, they will not receive any point for that
specific event.
12. The results secrecy committee will convene in a particular area. The members of
this committee will not be allowed to divulge the results. They are not allowed also
to go outside, when they start to convene. They will be allowed only if there is a
need to go outside in the knowledge of the General Supervisor/Implementer. No
gadgets are allowed inside the place unless it is needed.
13. The results secrecy committee head will be the official announcer of the winning
team in the SASOLYMPICS 2019. The results will be final and irrevocable.
