Project-Construction Operation and Maintenance of 02 lane Bi Directional Silkyara Bend Barkot

Tunnel with escape passage including approaches on Dharasu yamonotri section between Ch. 25.400
KM and CH. 51.00 KM falling along NH-134 (Old NH-94) in the State Of Uttarakhand on EPC mode.

Subject- Conducting of Pull out test for Rock Bolts at Barkot Site

Ref- Contract Agreement, Clause No 9.11, 9.11.1 and 9.11.1.2

With reference to the above subject and relevant clauses in the contract agreement, it has been observed
that the rock bolts installed in the Barkot portal has been embedded in the shotcrete which makes it difficult to
conduct the pull out test for rock bolts. 110 M of tunnelling has been completed in Barkot face in heading and
till no tests have been conducted by the contractor. As per clause 9.11.1.2 the employer’s representative will
select 5% of the installed rockbolts for ensuring the bearing capacity of the installed rockbolts. The
procedures for conducting the pullout test shall be in accordance with the IS code 11309 1985. The test
results shall be recorded and forwarded to the AE for review.
