INTRODUCTION
People are being captivated by their own sphere of life trying to push them self towards a
new heights every day to become more successful which is termed as “urbanization”. The
urbanized life is producing a mechanical life where being successful is everything, creating
mechanical beings. Therefore this paper focuses to bring a balance by promoting well-being of
an athlete, by proposing an EXTREME SPORT COMPLEX. A extreme sports complex is
inevitable, because they cover many factors that cannot be reproduced. Therefore, an integration
of plans from economic and architectural views before the construction is very necessary,
keeping mind about the nature of the environment it should blend with.

PROJECT BRIEF
PROJECT TITLE:
EXTREME SPORTS COMPLEX

SITE LOCATION:
NAGSASA COVE, PUNDAQUIT, SAN ANTONIO ZAMBALES PROVINCE

SITE AREA:
97 HECTARES

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

 To provide all sportsmen a variety of enjoyable leisure opportunities those which are
accessible
being safe and physically attractive.
 To promote and enhance the prospects of extreme sports.
 To create opportunities to find out the real talents in extreme sports.
DEFINITION OF TERMS

EXTREME SPORTS

1. ZORBING
- Take a giant inflatable ball, jump inside the middle,
and roll down a hill. Some people have gotten very
creative with zorbing, turning it into a giant game of
bowling or reenacting the runaway boulder scene from Indiana Jones, better run fast!

2. SCUBA DIVING
- Sure, it’s not the most extreme sport you can think of. But,
some people get very technical with their power stilts; flips, kicks,
tricks, and all kinds of acrobatics.

3. BLOBBING
- So, here’s how it works, take a giant air bag, set it
in the middle of a lake, put a person on one end,
and have someone else jump onto the other end.
The higher/heavier the jumper, the bigger the
liftoff!

4. PARASAILING
- Many probably think parasailing is just a relaxing tourist
activity at the beach. But, when you’re being pulled by a piece of
rope hundreds of feet above the water, the adrenaline rush
definitely kicks in.
5. PARKOUR
- Also known as freerunning, parkour is the art of moving over
obstacles as quickly and efficiently as possible. No
equipment needed; parkour can be practiced practically
anywhere. The bigger the obstacle, the greater the risk.

6. SURFING
- The bigger the wave, the better the ride. Some
surfers will ride waves up to 50 feet in height! Staying on
the surfboard is critical, because a bad wipeout can be
ugly.

7. CLIFF DIVING
- We’re not talking about jumping from that big rock at
your local swimming spot. We’re talking about big ass
cliffs that are 10, 15, 20 meters tall. At those heights
hitting the water feels like breaking through concrete; not
much room for error here. By the way, the divers don’t
wear any protective clothing, just a basic swimsuit.

8. FREERIDE MOUNTAIN
BIKING
- With freeriding, mountain bikers traverse
down a hill or cliff side that is essentially deemed
not navigable. There are no set courses or rules; just
make to the bottom with the flashiest over-the-top
riding skills one can display. Full face
helmets definitely needed for this sport.
9. HALF-PIPE / VERT RAMP
- Whether on a skateboard, bike, snowboard or
skis, people turn to half-pipes and launch
ramps to defy gravity and pull off some gnarly
tricks. And of course there is a certain level of
error (and injury) that comes with this sport.

10. EXTREME TOWER

- The Extreme Tower takes the rider a minute to
get to the top almost 40 meters high before suddenly
dropping at 76 kph. This ride will leave you screaming
your lungs out for more.

SPACE REQUIREMENTS
ADMIN BUILDING/INDOOR GYMNASIUM
1. Lobby
- a room providing a space out of which one or more other rooms or corridors lead,
typically one near the entrance of a public building.

2. Waiting area
- more commonly a part of a building or a room, where people sit or stand until the event
or appointment which they are waiting for begins.

3. Admin Office
- Office administration is a set of day-to-day activities that are related to financial
planning, record keeping & billing, personnel, physical distribution and logistics, within
an organization.
4. Manager's Office
- the design, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the process of work within an
office or organization, in order to maintain and improve efficiency and productivity.

5. Accounting
- Accounting or accountancy is the measurement, processing, and communication of
financial information about economic entities such as businesses and corporations.

6. Booking
- an act of reserving accommodations, travel, etc., or of buying a ticket in advance.

7. Personnel
- people employed in an organization or engaged in an organized undertaking.

8. Conference Room

- A conference hall or conference room is a room provided for singular events such as
businessconferences and meetings.

9. Ticket Area
- A ticket is a voucher that indicates that an individual is entitled toadmission to an event
or establishment such as a theatre, amusement park or tourist attraction

10.Clinic/Emergency Facility
- An emergency department (ED), also known as an accident & emergency
department (A&E),emergency room (ER), emergency ward (EW) or casualty department,
is a medical treatment facilityspecializing in emergency medicine, the acute care of
patients who present without prior appointment

11.Toilets
- a bathroom in a public building.

12.Storage Space
- a storeroom in a house where odds and ends can be stored (especially furniture) buttery,
larder, pantry.
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART

FUNCTIONAL COMPONENTS
A Place for Everyone
By increasing the width of the fieldhouse and placing the straight sprint lanes outside the
track oval, the interior of the track became available for a myriad of different uses. Departing
from the traditional installation of hard-top basketball or tennis courts within the track's center,
this area is covered in synthetic field turf—a game changer for athletes who can now work on
grass skills in temperate indoor space during Vermont's colder seasons.

Drawing in the Public

Outside of the building, an attractive, generous plaza provides ample pedestrian-friendly space
for sitting, eating and socializing. The building sits on a busy street, and what once was sealed
off is now a transparent and welcoming facility. With the construction of this fieldhouse,
Middlebury has cultivated a grand procession toward the sports facilities clustered here.
SITE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
Nagsasa Cove in San Antonio, Zambales, used to be rocky until the eruption of Mt.
Pinatubo, which dumped tons of volcanic ash in many parts of the region. Nagsasa Cove is
endowed with the same features as Anawangin: a beach of ash that absorbs hear faster than the
usual sand; a blanket of agoho trees, a type of casuarina tree, often mistaken for pine trees; the
azure sea teeming with life and color; and gently sloping hills framing the view.

Tourists often come to Nagsasa Cove when there are too many of their kind in
Anawangin. Well, if the word “overcrowded” bothers you, as is often the case with the latter,
then Nagsasa Cove is the right place for you.

Nagsasa Cove was a typical rocky coast fronted landward by a rich rainforest that was
home to small groups of Aetas.

Nagsasa Cove bears many similarities to its more famous stepsister Anawangin.
Anawangin’s popularity, however, is also her weakness. Anawangin can get too overcrowded
especially during peak season. Nagsasa, although beginning to draw in more and more tourists
each year, offers more moving and breathing space. It has all the good things Anawangin is
famous for but retaining the more laidback atmosphere that has started to slip away from the
other.

BUILING TECHNOLOGY AND UTILITIES

Construction-Ready Land

When choosing a site for your recreational facility, look for a piece of land that
is as building-ready as possible. The more time that has to be spent preparing the
property for construction – clearing away trees, grading, blasting rock – the more it
will cost, which means there will be less money for implementing your sports
complex design.

Durable Building Materials

It may seem fairly obvious, but the use of durable building materials in your
sports complex design will reduce long-term costs of maintaining your facility.
Recreational complexes are high-traffic, high-impact locations. If you don’t place an
emphasis on using materials that can stand up to the beating, then the remodeling and
repairs will never end. One example is the use of high-impact drywall in the
construction of gyms and athletic courts, rather than the more traditional cinder block
building method. High-impact drywall is durable, easy to clean, and less expensive
than its cinder block counterpart. Of course, you will learn about many more low-cost,
high-performance building materials after consulting with SFA.

Prefabricated Steel

Consider prefabricated steel in your sports complex design. A cost-effective,

low-maintenance solution, the use of prefabricated steel dramatically reduces
construction time, and it doesn’t have to be constantly repainted and updated every
few years like other more traditional construction materials. Since steel is fire resistant
and not susceptible to weather, steel structures often cost far less to insure. With
flexible, modern designs, your building’s steel exterior can be made to look like
traditional siding or stone.

LED Lighting

Utilities represent a significant expense in the day-to-day operations of a

recreational facility, and this is something to consider during the construction phase.
The use of LED lighting in your sports complex design can drastically reduce the
monthly electric bill. LED bulbs consume less energy and last longer. They provide
instant lighting without producing as much heat as other bulbs, which can help limit
the cost associated with cooling an indoor sports facility. With customizable intensity
settings and dimming controls, LED lighting can be specifically tailored to every
situation. Once you have decided on a floor plan and building materials, stick with
them. The more changes you try to make to the process mid-stream, the more it will
cost you and the longer it will take to complete the project. Of course, these are just a
few things to consider when planning your recreation center or sports complex design.
Sports Facilities Advisory will have many more suggestions for helping you slash
construction costs without sacrificing quality.
