teleseryes. Avid viewers often do not mind the overused storylines such as star-
crossed lovers are possibly siblings; and the antagonist fakes his/her death type of plot.
I bet most of us can name quite a number of shows with the aforementioned storylines.
As cliché as the storyline may seem, some Filipino teleseryes taught us important
usually deal with family conflicts or accord, sometimes even both. In the show ‘Ang
Carmen’s family had an ordeal, they supported each other through praying and sleeping
together in one room. As simple as their acts of supporting each other could be, it
actually shows that the mere presence of a family member during hardships is enough.
Another thing that the show taught us is the value of peace. For instance, in an episode
where Onyok tried to make peace with the guy who bullied him. Cardo then reminded
Onyok that he shouldn’t get into fights with anyone again. Another teleserye would be
‘My Dear Heart’, it taught us the value of faith. The situation of the main characters,
Jude and Clara, despite the challenges and problems that they are experiencing they
still manage to do their best as a parent. Basically, the value of faith that is being
referred to is not only having faith in God but also faith that you can do beyond the

are still a lot of people who are fond of watching these shows. What some do not realize
is that we can actually learn a lot of values from teleseryes like value of family, peace
and faith. Hopefully, more and more Filipino teleseryes would incorporate values into
the show, not only the viewers will enjoy watching the show they can also learn a lot
from it.
