IV. Rationale:

ELLN Digital is a technology-supported teacher development program in support of

the Department of Education's (DepEd) Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy
(ELLN) program under the “Every Child a Reader Program (ECARP)”. ELLN Digital uses
digital technologies in pedagogically appropriate ways to develop the capacity of early
grade teachers (Kindergarten to Grade 3) in literacy and numeracy instruction.

V. Objectives:

This SLAC aims for teachers to:

1. To explain the principles of early literacy, language and numeracy development

and instruction;
2. To discuss the components of balanced literacy and numeracy instruction;
3. To plan and implement balanced literacy and numeracy instruction for K to 3
Learners.
