Conceptual Framework Reflection

ASSESSMENT
This class has proven to be one that I have reflected back
on to the most of my Master’s classes. As a general edu-
cation and also special education math teacher, taking
this class truly helped me in becoming more familiar
with mathematical standards, and how to find a viable
curriculum that aligns (especially when one’s district has
standard-based assessments).
Having to align what I currently use in my teaching ca-
reer to the standards is something I use almost daily. It
helps me create my assessments and progress monitor-
ing.

CONTENT KNOWLEDGE
Again, as I stated above, it was very helpful to incorpo-
rate the standards into a math curriculum, as I felt I was
MATHEMATICAL
truly able to understand the reasoning behind the spiral-
CURRICULUM
ing of the content.
Curriculum alignment is important in the backward de-
sign process; as an educator, I want my curriculum to be SUMMER 2018
coherent.
