Conceptual Framework Reflection

APPLICATION OF CONTENT
Much like Mathematical Curriculum, this is another class
I have reflected back on during the course of getting my
Master’s, as well as in my job. The SMPs are so im-
portant in the educational setting, as they describe the
action part of math, and therefor it is essential they are
integrated into the content.
Having to align what I currently use in my teaching ca-
reer to the standards is something I use almost daily. It
helps me create my assessments and progress monitor-
ing.

CONTENT KNOWLEDGE
Much like Mathematical Curriculum, this class helped
me fine-tune alignment and application of standards to a
mathematical curriculum.
Content standards can be difficult to “break down”, but MATH EDUCATION
after taking this course, I feel confident in my abilities to STANDARDS
compare the SMPs, NCTM, and state standards.
Becoming familiar with the Principles and Standards for
SUMMER 2019
School Mathematics was new to me, and I found it help-
ful to be able to integrate those into my classroom plan-
ning, as well.
