LIBRARY BUILDING II (THIRD FLOOR)

Upon arriving at our designated area, we were welcomed by two welders, welding
the railings at the third floor part area of the new library building. We have interviewed
Manong Leonard Barcelona, one of the two welders, and have asked some really basic
questions about welding, like the purpose of welding and the type of welding. We was
using the smaw type for welding.
On the other side of the third floor library building, there were three men painting
the walls for first coating. They were doing the interior skim coating- powder mixed with
water for good walling purposes. According to Manong Jimboy Iligan, one of the three
painters, after the first coating they will do some more layers for coating in preparation for
the final painting of the walls.
While these three painters were busy, three men also on the other side of this floor
were working on for the finishing. Manong Jake Balog, told us that the type of finishing
that he was doing was a rough type of finishing.
Later on, Manong Jimmy Magundag, the foreman of the buildings mostly that is
being constructed, came up at the third floor and we have asked some very informative
informations. We have asked about the window, we were confused about because of the
beam on its center. But then he explained it was a lintel beam- 10cm in thickness, the one
that holds the lids of the window. We have also observed the insulator used and it was
said that it is the first class type of insulator- it has no foam unlike the common insulator
we are using. Manong foreman also shared that the one causing the delay of construction
is definitely manpower. Lack of manpower.
