REWRITE
 An if-then statement is composed of two clauses: the if- clause and the then- clause.

Conditional statements are formed by joining two statements p and q using the words if
and then.
 p for the if clause and q for the then clause. In symbol:
“If p then q” or p q

 The if(p) statement is called the hypothesis and the then(q) statement is the
conclusion.
Example:
Hypothesis (p): You are a Filipino.
Conclusion (q): You were born in the Philippines
Conditionals: If you are a Filipino, then you were born in the Philippines.

 Conditional statements can be true or false. If the hypothesis and the conclusion are
both true or both false.
 The implication p → q is always true except in the case that p is true and q is false.
